How far along? So I am about 16 1/2 weeks along now and I am SLOWLY starting to feel better. I still have really bad days filled with getting sick and migraines, but those aren't every day now so I am thankful. Although I would like to send a message to my baby that getting sick on a Saturday night in the middle of my busy work shift is not a pleasant experience and its not very nice to do to your mommy!
Weight Gain: So far I am up about 5 pounds. They say thats right where I should be so I am happy about that. Although its a crazy experience to go to the doctor and see your weight to continue to rise...not sure I am used to that yet.
Sleep: I have actually been sleeping pretty well. I really love sleeping on my back so I am trying really hard to break that habit but I seem to wake up on my back all the time. Plus I think I'm giving myself whiplash in my sleep trying to turn over quickly when I catch myself on my back...my neck is not happy about that!
Best moments this week: This week was one of the best weeks of my entire life b/c we got to find out the sex of our precious baby! We went to Becoming Mom Spa for an early ultrasound and it was such a great experience. Having my parents and grandma there and seeing their faces as we were looking at the baby was so much fun. One of my nieces was even able to come with us and watching her face was priceless. Everyone started crying while we listened to the heartbeat and its a moment I will never forget. The baby was moving around so much I could have stayed there all day just watching. It had a case of the hiccups during the ultrasound which was too funny to see! I cant wait until our reveal party next week so I can share with the world the sex of our baby!
Food cravings: MEAT. I was not one to eat a lot of meat before getting pregnant b/c I used to be a vegetarian. But that is all this baby wants! I also crave salads and fruit. I am at the point now where I have to bring "meat snacks" to work b/c in the middle of my shift thats what the baby wants.
What I miss: I miss being able to wear whatever I want. I can still fit in to most of my clothes but they are definitely getting tight. Its way more comfortable to wear maternity clothes. However most of the maternity clothes I have right now are too baggy. So I am in that in between phase which really isnt much fun. But I'm sure within the next couple of weeks I will be fitting in those maternity clothes.
What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to our party on Sunday. Our good friend Andrew is having us a "Diaper Party" cookout at his house to celebrate the baby. We are going to do a mini reveal there for the sex of the baby and its going to be so much fun to just celebrate with some friends and family! Also now that we know the sex we can start registering for the baby shower's so that will be a lot of fun. I already cant wait for my next ultrasound in 4 weeks. I am having a level 2 ultrasound and they get a really thorough look at the baby and it takes about an hour. A whole hour I get to stare at my baby!!
Milestones: Obviously finding out the sex was a big milestone for us. Now we get to really narrow down names...which is going to be really difficult for me. I am the most indecisive person ever so hopefully I can decide on a name!
Here are a couple pictures from our ultrasound. I am completely obsessed with starting at the pictures....I cant stop! This one is my favorite picture...I just love those little lips!!
And here is another one with Baby Hoover waving hello to everyone!
I am so excited to share our news of the sex of the baby with everyone...hopefully I can keep it a secret for a whole week!
Yay!! Can't wait to find out! Glad you're slowly starting to feel better!
